Alicia Mack

Cameron,

It's been so great to know you on both sides of the fence - as a client and as an employee. You were fantastic on both, but quite different! As your client, I always appreciated how effortless you made it all seem, how willing you were to accommodate us, and how easy it was to work with WhistleOut. All good things!

But as your employee, I got to know a little more about you, and the WhistleOut magic. Turns out it was so much better behind the curtain than I could have ever imagined! What a place to work. But one of the BEST elements has been getting to appreciate the many quirks, passions and interests that make you the interesting person you are. I'll miss your Song of the Day recommendations, being able to start conversations like, "what's your funeral song?" knowing full well you'll have an answer at the ready, laughing at anything Arrested Development, being amazed at your constant stream of ideas and insights and being able to learn a lot along the way. I can't wait to see what's next, but I hope it's a way off yet, and that you get to enjoy the fruits of your labour first.

You've created a unique and wonderful place to work, and you will be truly missed. I'll be forever grateful to you and Nick for the chance to work here. It's been good for the soul, so thank you.

I'll see you on social media. Oh wait, no I won't! I hope there's a way to stay in touch, and remember - there's always money in the banana stand.

Jason,

I'm so happy for you that your ten+ years of hard work and risk has paid off. I really am. For sure. BUT - you are leaving a gaping hole! Dev processes have been the stuff of recurring nightmares in my past jobs. You have made ALL OF IT a real pleasure. I don't know how your mind works, or how you have managed to build what you have, but it's the coolest. I reckon you'd smash a rubik's cube. But more than what you have built, it's who you are that I'll miss the most. Never one to toot your own horn, always happy to help (well, I don't know if you were happy, but you always helped!), always ready to have a laugh and poke fun. And always willing to accept the action items Sally would assign to you

You've built an incredible place to work, and we're all so lucky to reap the benefits of that. It truly is unique. It's hard to put into words how beneficial it has been to me, but it really has. So thank you.

I know Andrew also wants to thank you. He loved working with you and Jill, and I'm pretty sure he didn't charge for the time he and Jill spent chatting - haha!!

I hope there's some genuine down time for you (post recovery) - you certainly deserve it.

Take care, good luck, and congratulations!

Pete,

I was VERY slow on the uptake when it came to finding out you were leaving. You either kept it quiet, or I was in denial! You're leaving behind a legacy of work you should be truly proud of, and no doubt your design mark will be left on WhistleOut for a long time to come.

I'll make sure there's plenty of guitar-heavy-indie-stoner-rock songs being shared in SOTD - it's the least I can do. And for your part, you can hopefully enjoy your newly renovated house, some family time, some beach time, some down time. I was going to say some Japan time, but it may be a while before that becomes a thing.

I did live in fear of disappointing you or breaking the website via HTML violations, and I will miss that tension!! It always felt good to have you acknowledge an idea as a good one (that one time I had one), and I really, really enjoyed seeing your design process in action. You were consistently impressive, and a lot of our success can be laid at your feet. You've given us all an identity we can be proud of, so thank you.

Enjoy your new found freedom - can't wait to see what's next.
